Renetta Davis earned an Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Human Resource Management, Master’s in Information Technology, and Doctorate in Education-Computing Technology. She has also earned accreditations in the travel industry. She is an author (Just Say Yes! and Look at Me Now), entrepreneur, and coach to empty nesters, veterans, and those in underserved communities, guiding them through the completion of their memoirs. Her mission is to share techniques and mindsets to help control their destiny through a positive mindset, personal development, sharing their story, and never giving up on themselves. She presents them with opportunities to gain exposure to life outside of their boundaries, regardless of setbacks. Her focus is helping them realize that positive life change is possible, regardless of their adversities or budget restrictions. She is also a Mother, Grandmother, Speaker, Encourager, and Motivator. Her professional experience includes adjunct instructor for several colleges and universities, technical analyst and manager for a major corporation, office manager in the insurance and financial planning arena, job developer/case manager for a non-profit organization, legal secretary, and home-based travel business owner.
She grew up in Manhattan, New York and experienced a journey laden with twists and turns, such as being an unwed, teenage mother and high school dropout. She has a diverse personal and professional background. At the age of 17, she was awarded a full academic scholarship to attend college, from Burlington Industries in New York. After leaving New York, she moved to Kansas to pursue her college education. She postponed her education, opting to focus on raising a family, and returned to school years later in the midst of a divorce and raising two teenagers all while working full-time. Her resounding message – No matter what life presents to you, it’s possible to achieve anything you set your mind to; just keep moving forward.
She has spoken at a press conference for E. Fuller Torrey, M.D., a research psychiatrist specializing in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (also known as manic-depressive illness, the founder of the Treatment Advocacy Center, and associate director for Research of the Stanley Medical Research Institute in Washington D.C. Renetta has advocated for a family member experiencing unsatisfactory results with the medicine they were prescribed. Renetta has also spoken at numerous high schools, and encouraged students to challenge themselves and stay in school to complete their education. She has advised them that doing so will open the door to opportunities that offer them additional avenues to succeed in life. She has been a guest speaker on business podcasts covering a variety of topics including self-development, self-employment, self-motivation, goal setting, and goal completion.
